Dr. Carlos Benitez-Barrera is an assistant professor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department. At the Waisman Center, he directs the Pediatric Auditory Experience and Brain lab. His research focuses on the impact of early auditory experiences on behavioral and neural outcomes of children, particularly children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Dr. Benitez-Barrera is also interested in investigating neural correlates of speech-in-noise processing in the pediatric population.
